Conversation

'Conversations' is a piece with a reduced visual fact which is the identity of the artist''s style. In the reduction of visual facts, Ngulube utilizes this effect to draw us into the realm of his work in a rather religious manner than spiritually. In its religious manner, the work accommodates everyone in their own interpretation, while the spiritual side of his works engages us to question various moral values. Ngulube's subjects are mirrored against the Holy Writ' as a base of its entirety.  Embedded in the image is a disguised portrait of the artist. The personification of the artist is a representation of every individual.  The symbols evident in the work are a metaphorical representation of male and female gender. These convey the multiplicity of reproduction as layers over layers of colour and textures. The metaphor is also evidence of Ngulube's unique work ethic: the passion for each individual piece and intimacy amounts to that of carnal knowledge to satisfy the longing of originality in his work.

In conversations, Ngulube leads us to not only his emotions and dialogue but to the awareness of our silent dialogues with the self, with others and the disguise or masking of ourselves to be seen in a certain way that appeals to people. Conversations is an outlook of our phoneyness in a phoney world among phoney people and it's phoney comforts that have become a norm.
