Ingoma ka Nomkhubulwane - The Goddess of Fortune and Rain

In this painting l have used a human figure to be a symbol of mother earth. The virgin girl is calling, pleading to the rain goddess called uNomkhubulwane, the owner of the rain and the rainbows. The dry red soil represents the draft with writings of the names of those who are responsible to deliver spiritual messages to us. The combination of the spirit, water and the soil becomes a physical being. This is based from the stories of our forefathers about spirituality where we knew our great God uMenzi (the Creator) the bringer of light, as He works with other gods, where each soul is given a task before birth under the guidance of these gods.
