Mother's Keeper

This painting shows an imagination of two spirits trapped in a soul, black and white, striving to become one in an intimacy like that of twins in a womb. The loaf of bread represents the mother as a provider to those in her womb, who look up to her as a father who gives us our daily bread. “The soil that represents the bread is my mother but sometimes when her breast is too full it's taken away from me.” This artwork expresses the depth of relationships between man and nature, in a struggle to be one.
