NOSE DIVE

Nose Dive is a sharp mixed-media commentary on momentum, imbalance, and the uneasy speed of modern life. The work captures the moment just before impact—the split second where control is lost and consequence becomes inevitable. Through layered materials, abrupt shifts, and tension-filled marks, the painting mirrors emotional freefall and societal descent.

The exaggerated focus on the “nose” points to instinct, intuition, and direction—what leads us forward and what fails us when ignored. In this piece, the dive is not only physical but psychological: a plunge driven by pressure, overconfidence, distraction, or blind pursuit. Fragmented textures and disrupted surfaces echo instability, suggesting systems and identities stretched beyond balance.

Nose Dive reflects a culture addicted to acceleration—scrolling faster, consuming more, falling harder. Yet within the chaos lies awareness. The work invites viewers to recognise the warning signs before collapse, to question where they are headed and why. It is both cautionary and confrontational, asking whether the fall is accidental—or chosen.
