Prayers

I have conceptualized this painting of an old woman with her eyes closed to symbolize faith and abundance .The writings of the common words that are used in daily prayers occur as a plea to show how sorry we are for being black and Africans. I grew up as a child listening to the prayers where most of the time my mother thanks God for the mercy that He gave us by accepting and forgiving us regardless of our identity. Reading between the lines as l grew to be a man, l came to the digestion that my mother was empowering us through prayer to understand that we are not second class citizens but the same in God’s eyes.
